Patterson was an obvious pick. He has a bunch of shares, helping to get them to the necessary 5% to start this whole thing. Plus, he was originally at the time very well liked, almost worshipped, so they figured he would be a shoe-in for a director position. But, they failed to consider what would happen to his goodwill after he changed course as he did.
