Both the government and the pharmaceutical industry will resist legalization.
If people can grow their own medicine
1) The pharmaceutical companies lose a revenue stream
2) The politicians lose opportunities for graft because there is no longer a reason for the pharmaceutical companies to keep giving them the payola
Legalizing some plant medicines is an uphill battle. And the barriers are put in place in the name of "safety," of course.
