As more comes out it seems to make things clearer. This is what seems to be the timeline between the breakup of Cytodyn and Dr. Patterson. Dr. Patterson files a patent for CCR5/Covid-19 (using his work product at Cytodyn). Dr. Patterson then tries to use that as leverage for a buyout of IncellDX for $350 million. Nader turns him down. Either Nader is so incensed at this attempted blackmail he asks Patterson to leave or Patterson decides to leave on his own.

Dr. Patterson may be a brilliant virologist but he's looking at lining his own pockets so not someone I'd want on the Cytodyn team.
