Greener was also the first black faculty member of Cluck City U.** and after living in South Carolina, he forever considered himself a South Carolinian.*** The last years of his life were spent in Chicago. He died there in 1922 and is planted at Graceland Cemetery. Should you ever stop by his grave please tell him that a fan from the Sandlapper State said, hi.
