Regarding the FDA letter -- So, much has been said about the letter. My basic question is what precipitated the FDA to concoct and issue that letter? For what purpose did they think issuance of the letter would serve? Pretty obvious in my mind -- without issuance, they fully expected that LL would have imminantly be approved for EUA in countries outside of the US and, importantly, results would have been positive and, ip so facto, put the FDA in a precarious position. If, in fact as the FDA posits, LL was truly ineffective at treating COVID, then what in the world why would they issue the letter since failure of LL in other countries would have only supported the FDA's pre-letter position of just not issuing any EUA? Doesn't this logic hold water?? Comments are very welcomed.
