Three children 10 and under have been killed by gunfire in Minneapolis since April 30. No arrests have been made.

Crime Stoppers of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce have partnered to offer a total of $30,000 for information in these cases.

"These brazen senseless acts of gun violence must stop," Minneapolis Chief of Police Medaria Arradondo said in a statement Sunday after another shooting Sunday that killed two and injured several others.

SPCO cancels North Minneapolis outdoor concert, citing safety concerns over recent gunfire

May 29—The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra is canceling its Thursday concert at the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis over safety concerns, after shots were fired near there Monday, striking an adjacent building.

"Both of our organizations are concerned about the intense escalation of gun violence in our treasured Northside community," said James Scott, director of the Capri on West Broadway Avenue. "We've never before had to cancel an event at the Capri out of concern for the safety of our audience, artists and employees, and we are deeply saddened to do so now."

The outdoor concert is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two arts organizations that began in 2009 with a mission to build community, develop youth and establish the North Side as a regional cultural destination.

The organizations hope to reschedule the performance, which was part of a series of four outdoor concerts planned by the SPCO in June. The remaining three performances — at Mears Park and Lake Como in St. Paul and Lake Harriet in Minneapolis — will proceed as scheduled.

The orchestra will return to the newly renovated Capri in October to participate in its grand reopening.
