PPS is easier to manipulate downward as things currently stand and is even assisted by buyers as they too try to get shares as cheap as possible.
Say shorts drop the PPS by 15% at market open a buyer doesn’t want to offer 15%+ more to get the PPS back to where it was. Shorts can then cover as investors sell due to the drop in SP or by hitting investors stop loss.
