Re: Goosebumps #91894
"I will have to remind him that the phase 3 HIV with 350mg weekly dose passed its primary end point and that is also a coronavirus."
At the risk of the wrath of Goosebumps.....a few things:
First, HIV is not a coronavirus. It is a virus, but is shaped different, mutates different, transmits different -- they really are very different viruses. Here is a good article that helps explain. If HIV was a coronavirus we would likely have an effective vaccine - which we do not.

We did hit our primary end point with 350mg in the HIV trial. We also found that 525mg was more effective. We also know that the immunological response with covid is very different than chronic HIV -- but we don't really know precisely how different.
Blafarm's point is that 1.) we don't have the dose escalation data for covid at 350mg, 2.) we know there is no risk to 700mg, and 3.) the company's financial fuse is short - why risk it?
Call me what you want - I have very thick skin. I want the trial to work and the company to be successful - I think Blafarm has a valid point.
