my response:
1) some folks are just really jerks, seriously....and jerk-ism is almost exclusively caused by insecurities (Freud's protigy Erickson)
2) a target to vent emotions/frustrations/discouragements at, a preferred target vs barking at one's spouse
3) some folks who are normally/usually very descent kind generous forgiving folks can just be hit by many problems/hassles etc including stock decline and other financial stresses/demands/un-expected expenses/daily hassles/spam
4) absence of magnanimity (best word in the English language)
