There is such a thing as "penny wise, pound foolish." At this point CYDY still has to prove to the world that the drug works. A demonstration of that in a real-world scenario is of literally incalculable value.
If the company has to provide the drug at cost, or a very small profit, to be able to sell millions of doses in the future -- isn't it worth sacrificing a little profit now? How much does it cost to run a clinical trial? Giving away thousands of doses would be much cheaper than running a large-scale clinical trial -- so if the company just breaks even on the Philippines initial operation, I'm just fine with that. It will pay off handsomely in the future.
In other words -- I'd rather have X% of something, than 100% of nothing.
