I don’t think we need to panic, but I see no reason not to remain vigilant. I’m assuming you have some familiarity with the situation in India. More important than the raw numbers is the rate of increase. According to the AP deaths have increased 10X since April 1st; 300 to 3000 per day. As occurred here, the need for ICU space and bottled oxygen is dire.
This virus constantly mutates. Each country seems to have its own strain or multiple strains. In the past 24 hours 357,229 new cases and 3449 deaths were reported in India. I believe there are several issues that raise concern and demand the “complete vaccine”. However, how far away are we from obtaining it and getting it into human beings?
