In any of the patients receiving the placebo (only Rems...) would any of them see a dramatic lowering of viral infection?

I don't see how as Rems... doesn't kill the virus.

You are most likely right, I probably think Rems... is far more useless than it really is. But my guess is they are seeing no mediocre results in the trial, either the person gets absolutely great results or absolutely no improvement.
