It is a systemic problem in the whole FDA approval setup, which is magnified by the Covid-19 pandemic, which the EUA process was supposed to correct, but the EUA process has failed miserably in application, likely as a result of the FDA being beholden to BP's interests to the exclusion of anything else. It appears that the whole EUA process (including the approvals to date) was merely set up to pacify the public by saying they were doing something (and to benefit BP). What was the point of the EUA process again if they are applying full approval protocol for the EUA process for small pharma and just handing out approvals to BP? The FDA apparently had no intention of giving out any EUA's to any small pharma, the EUA process is purely for show and to benefit BP.
