I would certainly assume (almost something one could guarantee) that the people involved in setting up the trial have more knowledge about and understanding of the drug than anyone posting on a message board. They know a lot about the pharmacokinetics from the past trials and would logically have used those past results to select a trial dose as high as "possible" for efficacy while trying to assure safety. Seems to be common sense, in spite of the gorilla dust that some throw trying to raise doubts.
