I think you hit the nail on the head and the perception of LL as some "voodoo" medicine from the beginning.
This from a major infectious disease expert last April 2020 to me when I mentioned how leronlimab was doing at Montefiore from doctor friends in NYC:
"Most everything, if not everything, that physicians are trying on SARS-CoV-2 positive patients is 100% experimental.
Leronlimab (an anti-CCR5 monoclonal) is just one of them in a series of "voodoo" therapeutic trials.
There's lots of hammers looking for nails."
So that was the view from the entrenched BP experts, afraid of anything outside of normal channels at the beginning of the pandemic.
