I have an issue with your “real problem” analysis. First we don’t know how many “legitimate private” investors own GNBT because, well, they are PRIVATE and unless they own 5% or more and file a Schedule 13D/G with the SEC, we will NEVER know. As for the Institutional Investors, the same 5% rule applies to them WHEN they are allowed to invest in GNBT after it is no longer on the OTC (upgraded to NASDAQ) and is not a “penny” stock with a share price under $5.
If I was a “legitimate private” investor, I certainly wouldn’t be putting a BUY pressure on GNBT, but just quietly start picking off the Day Trader churn stock for the incredible bargain basement prices. There is a reason for the low volume. It could be just disinterest or perhaps a reduction of available “churn” stock that the day traders have to play with.
