It is possible Brilacidin could be used for compassionate use; but the path is outside the clinical trial. If the phase 2 trial is successful IPIX is sure to get requests for compassionate use.
After the Remdesivir phase 2 trial it was granted the ability to have expanded compassionate use before it was granted an EUA.
The compassionate use has to be applied for by the physician on behalf and with the permission of the patient when all other treatments have failed.
