Re: MD VIROLOGIST #85053
The old HIV PRO140 studies show that the pharcokinetics of subQ dosing are substantially identical to IV dosing.
Google scholar "lalezari PRO140" and the old IV and subQ HIV studies come right up.
About 20 patients in each.
Blood level was measured every few days in each patient.
Single time constant exponential decay is visible in plots of both subQ and IV dosing.
Exponential decay time constant was the same for both subQ and IV dosing.
Because the dose for IV and subQ was nearly the same, the peak blood concentration in IV is much higher, around 140 micrograms per milliliter, as compared to around 30 micrograms per milliliter in the subQ dosing.
I think if the exponential decay time constant is the same that should be adequate proof that pharmacokinetics are identical.
