The car buying example made me think of Carvana- Disruptive business model where cars can be bought, sold, or traded 100% online. Currently valued around $47 billion.
Your example would be a way for brands like Nissan, all the way down to the local dealerships, to stay relevant and keep customers interested- Similarly to how Schwab, E*Trade and most of the other brokerages started offering commission-free trading because of Robinhood's explosive growth & popularity.
