I’d venture a guess that the logic you are looking for is in the timing of the payout.
If the shares are paid out at a lower price, before major news, they get more shares for their money and when the major news drops, well, the more shares you have the more you make.
This is significant for 2 reasons. 1) They will be taxed on the lower, pre news, amount received. And 2) they won’t have to pay takes on the gains until they sell.
Wanna know what’s holding up the up list and IPO. My bet is it’s is payment of the bonus. Not the other way around.
