Thursday, May 21, 2020 (Bronx, NY) —Montefiore Health System and Albert Einstein College of Medicine are the first sites in the nation to begin evaluating an investigational drug in two separate, FDA-approved trials: one to treat mild-to-moderate cases of COVID-19, and the other to treat severely ill COVID-19 patients. They are hopeful that the drug, leronlimab may prevent the “cytokine storm” that inflames and fatally damages the lungs and other organs of many COVID-19 patients.

I wish we had gotten aggressive at this point on May 21st and not backed into the deal with the FDA. Now we need to submit the EUA form and move on if not approved.
