I still remember, how the protocol at first even excluded patients over 65!
And I thought, how does that make any sense if we want to show stat significance in a small trial. All the news out at this time clearly stated that something like 90% of the deaths occured in age group 65+.
And I have no backround in that area and it catched my eye immediatley.
They changed it like a month after the trial started. And Im still not sure if they just did so because enrollment was slowly or because they realised this obvious blunder in the trial design.
Its unbelievable.
