If you have been here for 3 years and have not sold, you haven't "made out well."
You are letting it ride and "might" make out well.
On the other hand, if you have been here for 3 years and sold half at some point in the last 10 months, then you have made out well and are in a good position to make choices about how to manage your remaining shares.
