Let's not forget that the BARDA grant program for therapeutic drugs was abruptly terminated last spring, the day before the grants were to be announced.
I believe that Brilacidin and another small company's (lesser) drug would have gotten through clinical trials by last November or December, if not for this disgusting cancellation of exactly the kind of program BARDA was designed to do. And countless lives might have been saved.
If they finally do the right thing, a year after they should have done it, great -- but I wouldn't count on them.
