Re: Paul Jackson #27249
I’ve been thinking about the call for patience here...and Paul you’re not the first, and even I at times have called for more patience. But I wonder whether that’s reaching for the right tool. I know that I seem to experience impatience when something I’m observing is just happening more slowly than I’d like. It implies an ability to perceive the state of things: the current position, the distance to the goal, the pace of progress. And so impatience arises in me, almost indivisible from anticipation. But here impatience and even anticipation seem out of place. We don’t know where we are, we don’t know how close we are to the objective, there is no way to estimate movement or progress. There is...nothing. And really, isn’t it more satisfying to get lost in philosophical musings than sit and yearn for things that do not yet exist? (clinical trials, IPO, increasing pps). So patience? No. It only leads to more frustration. Perhaps bowling instead?
