Ok, makes sense. It's not officially a Catholic Church recommendation to avoid the vaccines if an individual cleric offers his opinion, which is what this is. In fact, the pope strongly recommended the vaccines, but that is not an infallible teaching. It's only his opinion, just like his many other pronouncements. In other words, there are levels of authority in Church teaching that may or may not bind Catholics to believe and follow. Doesn't matter much anyway, since most choose what to believe / follow and toss the rest. I doubt either would have an effect on the vaccination count.
But I'll tell you what, if someone doesn't take the vaccine and gets sick, we hope and pray FDA approves the one therapeutic that "takes dying off the table"! GLTA
