I don’t disagree with your sentiment. But if you consider the approval process for any new drug is supposed to be 6-10 months once the application has been filed, depending on whether it’s been fast tracked or not, then a couple weeks is actually pretty fast. I’m firmly in the camp that the FDA should have been faster and this should have been approved last year. But considering we just got our real data (the kind the FDA wants, placebo controlled, blinded, yada yada yada) to them and we should know within 2-3 weeks is actually pretty good if you look at it that way. Hopefully, outside of saving lives, the best thing that comes out of Leronlimab approval is the FDA sees it as an example of how to do better next time we have a global pandemic. Of course we’ll have stockpiled Leronlimab by then and it might not matter as much. But you get my point. Heads should roll and policies should change.
