Wow, so shorts can borrow the shares, but then just wait, not shorting those borrowed shares, not selling them until some later time?
So on Friday, there were only 15,000 share available to be borrowed to be shorted at market close. Thus, many have been borrowed, like over 3 million shares and we don't know for sure if they have been sold yet? So they could massively sell the shares they have borrowed, on Monday? That just doesn't sound probable to me, that they can borrow without actually selling?
Thus 4 steps.
1) Borrow,
2) wait,
3) sell when high,
4) then cover-buy later when low??
