IMMUNOLOGY ...the video game?
OK I was trying to follow the recipe of Respert24, but my wine cabinet and literary skills left much to be desired, and my frozen dinners do not compare to his steaks. Nonetheless, I had a BLAST! And in my mind so did covid. (Segway, check!)
Preamble: (trying to sound fancy here, bear with me)
The world is full of constant talk of fighting viruses and diseases. Video games have been made to focus on the high score or beat Donkey Kong or Bowser.
Why not shift the focus of video games to what's on the minds of kids and adults alike in today's world: fighting viruses and diseases. I took a buzzy moment to think of what this could look like… and I thought…
The goal: TO SURVIVE
Game play:
The challenge: You are faced with troublesome news. You have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The game starts upon first symptoms (fever, loss of taste) so you have time to beat the disease and save your life (there are no 1ups in this game). This is life, not a game! Wait, its a game about life… Wine check! Check plus!! And away we go. (Take that Respert24… muhuhahahahaaaaa.)
The intro graphic appears: You have covid. "But I was so safe!" Are you gonna lie down? or are you gonna fight?? or are you gonna fight by lying down??? You choose one of the three choices and proceed.
The intro music billows in your ears like a songbird, then changes to hardcore rap, jarring you to the harsh reality of the casual effort put in by the game designer while he sips his cheap wine…
Emimem comes on the screen and says in a rappy way: Sorry about your diagnosis. Look, if you only had one shot, one opportunity…to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment…. Would you capture it or just let it slip? This is your life. The choice is yours."
(As Homer Simpson would say “I think he’s talking to you! )
Two buttons appear:
1) FIGHT!
2) Quit
Upon choosing FIGHT, you are shrunken like the scene in Innerspace (yes Innerspace) and injected into the body. You are armed with a needle, not a gun.
Your ammo: All the known medicines in the world are in your arsenal!! And you’ve been studying this IH forum like its your job cause they ain’t watchin!!
(This is where it gets good, it had to eventually, or did it?)
Your choice: Which medicine are you gonna use to fight covid??
See here for your weapon of choice… there can be only one!! (I didn’t see no copyright): https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/scie...ments.html
Game play : You jump onto blood cells and epithelial cells and other fancy sounding cells and use your weapon where you see best fit: on CCR5 receptors, the ACE proteins, maybe stem cells. Maybe you find your way to the back of the throat and hit it with some propolis? You are also armed with…. Google, so you pause the game to google “propolis” and carry on.
During the fight mid-game choices appear before you, prompting you to decide foods to eat that can help or hurt your ability to survive. Choices include eating anti-inflammatory foods like:
Eat some beat roots?
Munch on some moringa??
You know you want the Big Mac tho!!!
Sit in the sun for 1 hour a day (for Vitamin D)? or stay inside and rest more??
Likelihood of survival is increased or decreased by the choices you make. Studies supporting the effect of your choice on survival appear as hyperlinks to web articles showing study data.
Upon choosing Leronlimab (the only way to solve the game of course) you have two subcutaneous needles that spray leronlimab on CCR5… and you solve the game and have no need to save a fake princess.
The sequel: HIV
The cheat code: Leronlimab (case sensitive)
The disclaimer: I know I don’t know any of you. I just feel we have all been beaten down by this pandemic and there’s not much we can do to help our loved ones and ourselves. While I enjoy a good laugh, when it comes to COVID 19, I do not believe laughter is the best medicine, I believe leronlimab is. While we have to wait even longer to see it become a reality due to various reasons, why not have a laugh?
Thanks for being such an informative and caring group of individuals rather than a bunch of money grubbing short-sided individuals. “The Brinks truck doesn’t follow the hearse” as my grandparents would say.
My ask: Please reply with your most insightful article on leronlimab, CCR5 antagonist research against cancer, NASH, HIV, anything. However best helpful to contribute to a consolidated “pile” of info. I have been a member for a while now and I’m experiencing major information saturation. I know many are too, and I’m looking to help with that.
Perhaps your 1 paragraph pitch on “Why Leronlimab?” Yeah, that would hit the proverbial spot.
I want to post to the yahoo forum with insight to help people learn what our media has not taught us, and I’m counting on… You! (Insert picture of Uncle Sam here). And yeah I know TechGuru provided a detailed guide of how to post an image, and I bookmarked it on one of my 4 private browsers, but I’m more info saturated than the influence of hypoxia on upregulation of ACE2 (target receptor for SARS-CoV-2 entry) expression, with supporting transcriptomic analysis of a publicly available gene expression profile dataset of human renal proximal tubular epithelial cells cultured in normoxic or hypoxic conditions!
So either diffuse my systemic endothelitis and microthrombi playing an important pathogenic role in the wide range of systemic manifestations, exacerbation of hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction in the setting of pulmonary vascular endothelitis/microthrombi, the phenomenon of “silent hypoxemia” with some patients presenting to the hospital with severe hypoxemia disproportional to symptoms… Or post your favorite CCR5 antagonist link.
Thanks for playing.
