nothingspecial,
I apologize in advance, I am not responding to the specifics of your post, but rather a post I remember from 6-7 months ago of which your post reminded me, and was also an eye-opening moment for me.
“India (still gathering data) has suggested that 100 to 900 million people there, may have already had covid without knowing, given the results of preliminary tests for antibodies. They also speculated that it could take them 3 to 6 yrs to achieve herd immunity.”

“3 to 6 years to achieve herd immunity.”
The post I’m remembering was from a person with experience in Virology and/or Pandemics.
It essentially said, ‘the viral load in the individual human isn’t the problem, but the amount of virus On Earth.’ This blew my mind and was a lightbulb moment.
Concerning your post, it’s a roll of the dice if herd immunity is even possible. (I recommend vaccine over infection). With mutations and/or length of decreasing antibody protections, herd immunity is no certainty. It’s easy to see herd immunity as a binary event. Most of us think in these terms. You either died, or survived from the virus. But if the virus changes, or leaves a long trail of effects on the body, it’s not black or white any longer.
Eliminating Worldwide virus certainly would eliminate the virus, it’s mutations, long effects on the body, and death, but may not be possible.
So we have to attempt both. Leronlimab can play a big part. At least for 3-6 years, but also as long as viruses exists in the World. IMHO.
