I hope it doesnt seem like we are ganging up. Certainly not the intent.
I welcome the data from any and all trials, as the more we can review and compare the more confident I become. I can certainly see how this trial looks like the SOC has decreased mortality significantly. But hopefully the point we are making makes sense.
This data set actually supports the premise that mortality will be in excess of 30%. Tech Guru's example was good. I'll add to it:
50/50 split of (non invasive oxygen and mechanical vent) 33.8%
60/40 split of (non invasive oxygen and mechanical vent) 32.28%
70/30 split of (non invasive oxygen and mechanical vent) 30.76%
80/20 split of (non invasive oxygen and mechanical vent) 29.24%
90/10 split of (non invasive oxygen and mechanical vent) 27.72%
Is it possible that the ratio in our trial was 80% or greater severe vs. critical? I'll leave that up to each to decide.
