Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought autism and spectrum disorders correlate directly with the age of the father at conception,i.e., the older the father the more likely to produce an autistic offspring. Just like with Down’s. So old X chromosome sperm might be a big factor in addition to whatever the mother may contribute.
