Correct rjs. When you release too much data or even state which publication the paper will appear in, the publication can and usually will pull the publication.
This happened to a paper on leronlimab, Dr Sacha was supposed to present at a conference. Dr Pourhasan refered to the paper during a CC and the conferece canceled Dr Sacha's presentation. Wound up taking several months to get back on a schedule to present. Guess what, some assumed there was something wrong with the data. Of course there wasn't but when you can't talk about something people will think what they will and the shorts will take advantage of weak longs.
