Absolutely correct. SEC and FINRA are a joke. Anyone thinking that whining to these “agencies “ will effect any outcome is kidding themselves. Constantly posting links and statements about corruption is a waste of time. Accept reality and act accordingly.
I disagree with your assessment of our regulatory agencies. They are not a joke. If they were not there there would be much more theft. You have to know that they document for up to two years a shorting plan before they go after the shorter. They have a lot more power than you must know. They are the big brother looking over us all... they will catch you if your out of line consistently. Just go ahead and push the law and find out.
On the other side. Stiffer penalties would be better to discourages shorting all together. I personally see shorting as a way to steal from the poor working person by the more wealthy investor and see it as a crime of the rich stealing from the poor. It’s a disgrace to me. We should not allow even a little shorting and should confiscate all accounts associated with shorting and donate the total account to certified charity of the shorters choice since they will have no more money to trade with. So when you see something out of line happening to our little company. Report it to Finra.org.
I have contacted Finra.org many times. We all should be aware and contact the regulator when shorting is happening even on a daily basis. It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. So everyone needs to squeak! Let’s clean up our own back yard and stop the stealing.
