There is nothing to say LL won't be still being used 30 years from now. Granted it won't be under a patent for the original applications, but new uses allow for patent extensions. So for a molecule that can have 100% occupancy for CCR5, with almost no side effects, Its hard to see anyone coming up with a better alternative. And if they can extend the patent for each additional use this could go on for many years, decades.
It's kind of funny that in the attached article they are talking about drugs that have been repurposed for 1 or 2 additional uses. What are we at 65 and counting.
