ANYTHING remotely associated with a "Miracle Drug.."Holy Grail" or such awareness will have a HUGE saving in the AWARENESS DEPARTMENT..
Calif-based Institute for Health and Socio-Economic Policy stated of the "Top 100" Pharma Companies by SALES;
64% spent X 2 on Mktg and Sales than on Research and Development
58% spent X 3 " " " " " " " " "
43% spent X 5 " " " " " " " " "
27% spent X 10 " " " " " " " " !!!!!!!!
On TOP of that Massive heap of MONEY..... Big Pharma (DADDY) shells out Hugs and KIsses to DOCTORS to the TUNE of 20 BILLION a year according to arstechnica.com.
I'm in Retail and Mktg and understand these numbers as an integral part of the cost of doing business, under NORMAL conditions any company with Less than 5 Million in revenues should be about 7-8% of Sales...building Brand awareness can be UP TO 20% of Sales. When extrapolating the Big Pharma NEEDs .....It's "ToTheMoon" and back several times. IF I was in the Advertising and Marketing Department for CYTODYN ..my biggest concern would be TENURE.
