It is a good question, and whlle Respert's post was nice and gave us plenty of insight into himself, he did not answer your question as to what pie with what libation exactly. So I will.
While one should ALWAYS drink what they enjoy, I would NOT put a sweet Riesling with coconut creme pie. That is just wrong on so many levels. What WOULD I pair it with? Clearly a rum drink. Rum and coconut compliment each other nicely, whereas Riesling is pairing sweet with sweet and is overkill. Have we learned NOTHING from the late, great Harry Nilsson? "You put the rum in the coconut and drink it all up..."
That being said, and this is a fact, it is a "thing" in China to show off one's great wealth by buying VERY expensive bottles of wine. We're talking like bottles over $1000 each. Thing is, the Chinese don't really like wine so much, so they actually pour Coca Cola in it to make it more palatable to them. Talk about a travesty...
