Re: Rubraquercus #76591
Vaccines, the percentages reported can be quite misleading,
such as stating the Phizer/BNTX vaccine is 95% effective.
Not to mention the earth shaking news of these high percentages was based upon merely 8 Phizer vaccinated people getting infected. The rarely mentioned info is that their Primary Endpoint was reduction folks who became severe or critical infected. Mild infected, moderate infected, asymptomatic infected were not originally mentioned. As I recall, the number who they labeled as "Suspicious Infected" was about 1400. Labeled suspicious because they had mild or moderate symptoms, but were not confirmed as having been infected, because they were not tested, because M/M was not of any concern in their trial, only s/c was of concern. And then if we add some of course unknown number of asymptomatic infected, the % who did not become infected would be substantially lower than 95%. So if JNJ or SNY report 55% reduction in rate of infections, it sounds quite inferior to Phizer and Moderna, but reality is, maybe not.
