A couple of comments on YMB worth sharing from an (apparent) doctor who was able to get leronlimab.
hms:
"Needed LL for a critically ill patient in our icu.
NP and Dr.Kelly got back to us same day.
Amarex got us all forms within 2 hrs.
Took a full day of multiple phone calls with the FDA and forms being filled out but got approval within 10 hours if initiating the conversation.
LL was shipped to our hospital and given to the patient within 36 hours.
The entire team at Cytodyn could not have been more organized and helpful- they were amazing."
"Prior to LL the patient had received REM and plasma and was getting worse by the hour. After first dose of LL the O2 requirement improved within 24 hrs- went from fiO2 80-100% and PEEP 8 to 45-55% PEEP 5. Chest X-ray also improved over a few days.
Unfortunately remains on the vent because of other medical issues that predated the Covid pneumonia. But the lungs are clearly improved and stable and IMHO the drug made a huge difference. It’s anecdotal but very encouraging."
Doc Joe chimed in:
"I had the same positive experience with my one patient, but gave her the dose prior to being on ventilator. Horrible bilateral pneumonia with sats 89 on high flow nasal oxygen. She was OFF oxygen in 72 hours. Could have easily swung the other way. I also know it’s anecdotal but..."
