I actually have the same problem here in Germany. Most brokers do not allow us to buy stocks directly from the OTC, in an attempt to protect us from the considered mostly fraudulent companies listed on the OTC. (In fact, it is mostly a protection for themselves trying to avoid being sued when people lose their money on such investments)
The only reason I am still able to buy and sell GNBT shares is, because there are a few German exchanges that these shares are traded on as well. As weird as it may sound, but through these German exchanges I can buy and sell these sames shares, that I need to be protected from when buying directly from the OTC. But that is the way it is handled here in Germany. LOL
