My recollection is that, in the past, Zion is quite focused. Once they start, they spend all their energies to completing the drilling. I'll admit I haven't gone back and checked to see if my memories are accurate. I am guessing some of their updates might soon address this question. Also their last update did mention that,
"The remaining equipment is scheduled to arrive in port January 8, with the additional cementing, logging tools, and mud chemicals arriving as needed in advance of the final sections."
So they did not, as of their last update, have all the required stuff needed to complete the initial effort. Presumably they now have it. All this to say that I would be surprised if they haven't made it to their target depth in 2021 but your article seems to indicate that would be a "best possible" outcome.
