The Victoires de la Musique could serve as a test concert with the public
The next edition of the Victoires de la Musique, which will take place on February 12, could welcome 1,300 spectators at the Seine Musicale. The ceremony should thus serve as a test concert to study the possibility of organizing concerts in the coming months.

Rewarding artists and setting up a gigantic scientific experiment: this is the challenge that the Victoires de la Musique should take up this year. The 36th edition of the ceremony could serve as a test concert to study the spread of the virus in theaters and test whether it is possible to organize a concert in these times of health crisis. According to a press release from the Californian laboratory Innova Medical Group, which produces antigenic tests, 1,300 spectators could participate in this life-size experience as part of the Victoires de la Musique, which will take place on February 12 at the Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, at the gates of Paris.

1,300 spectators from the music industry expected

The ceremony, from which Benjamin Biolay leaves as a big favorite this year, would therefore be the first musical event with the public for nearly a year can we read in the press release. “ This is a strong sign that we want to send. It would finally be possible for the artists to find the stage, and especially their fans, under a strict sanitary protocol which commits everyone: the organizers, the venues, and obviously the public. And if everyone plays along, we could finally see the end of this terrible period for our entire industry, ”assures Jean-Yves de Linares, the general manager of the Association des Victoires de la Musique, who assures us that the ceremony will “ More than ever to support culture ”.

If a request has been filed " with the prefecture for authorization to receive from the public ", nothing is official yet. " No decision has been taken at this stage " underlines the press release from Innova Medical Group, even if several scenarios are being studied. As Le Parisien specifies, the protocol, designed with PH Expertise, should impose a test at the entrance to the room for all spectators. Only people who test negative will be able to enter the room. Participants will receive a questionnaire two days after the ceremony, then a second five days after the evening, in order to detect any contamination. The results of this experiment should be known on February 22 and will be used by the entire live performance industry.

If it were to really take place, this test ceremony would follow similar successful experiments in Leipzig and Barcelona in recent months, both proving that concert halls are not places of infection.and that we can indeed organize shows provided that the rooms have a good ventilation system. Other test concerts should be organized at La Cigale in Paris and at the Dôme in Marseille. For the latter, IAM recently confirmed its attendance at the event.
