For any new folks...In HIV this drug blocks the virus from binding at the CCR5 (chemokine receptor) and stops the virus from replication. As a huge bonus it also converts macrophages from M1 macrophages that promote inflammation into M2-type macrophages that inhibit inflammation. This a huge deal for a whole host of medical conditions caused by inflammation. The science is real folks, it is very real...that conversion of macrophages also allow for these natural immune system macrophages to attack and literally eat cancer cells.
