"liquidating other positions"

I don't understand. How would that work? If they were closing long positions to raise cash, that means they would be selling CYDY. If they were closing short positions, that means they'd have to come up with the money to buy back the shares they are short. If they're already in a cash crunch, how would that help them meet a margin call elsewhere?
