I think that they are very process driven and are accustomed to having the answers come from big Pharma.
Many claims to having the answer. Until results of rigorous trials are revealed, we are in the same boat as Aviptadil, cd24fc, synairgen's interferon-1, lenzilumab, oob-2, etc.
Many plausible solutions, but none (yet) rigorously proven in severe covid.
It sucks, but it is not surprising.
