Here is a good article that describes how shorts work. I’ve posted this on IHub and it gets deleted in minutes. I think it paints a good picture of how they work. You can decide for yourself.

My Response:
1) I first read that post when it was put up on Seeking Alpha, months ago
2) I think it is a phony post, the author was never a basher
3) the company his employer, name Global something does not exist
4) there's no description of how shorting works, nor of coordinated shorting
5) it merely talks about paid bashers
I have tried to obtain details of how shorting drives share price down, have collected numerous articles, but I still could not describe how shorting works, unless it is merely as simple as what I describe below?????
Shorts enter by selling when sp is high, they buy later ("cover" when sp is low.
a) Seems that these 2 would neutralize each other, and sp in theory would net be unchanged after the cover (buy).
b) I'm guessing that when shorts come in by selling, that is what pushes sp down. If they coordinate with others, the effect is significant.
That's all I know, rather all that I think I know....
Edit: See, nobody has responded after 42 views, is that because most folks aren't sure how shorting drives sp down, or is it because it is obvious, and is by the simple description I wrote above???
