OK, cognitive dissonance on an important number.
I see the data and the computation is simple - it says at least 32% of hospitalized patients die.
But today there were 125k people hospitalized, but only 25k of those in ICU and only 8k of those ventilated.
While people obviously progress in hospital, and spend different number of days in each state, this math could imply 80% (or even over 100%) of ICU patients die.
As that isn't the case, please help me with a better explanation. One website (covidtracking.com) has stopped reporting cumulative hosp and ICU numbers as underreported ("only about two-thirds of states and territories report data..."
