Thx Farrell. IPIX has concentrated resources on the antiviral, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory indications of Brilacidin. Anti-fungal aspects are now back to uPenn. I am not sure if Leo mentioned if Brilacidin was being investigated against viruses such as Ebola, Marburg, Nipah, etc? That would require a BSL-4 lab. If Brilacidin shows efficacy against those viruses then really, the only remaining step in my mind would be parasitic infections. If Brilacidin is effective against those viruses that would be great. But if it also turns out to be an effective treatment for parasitic infections such as Chagas that would be stunning. That is why I questioned its ability to pass the blood-brain barrier because many of these infections affect the brain.
