People with one or both CCR5delta32 genes still have CCR5 receptors that still ALMOST support a fully functioning immune system.

I say ALMOST because this mutation allows the person to be more susceptible to certain diseases from memory one being West Nile virus.

But there immune system is still close to the average persons.
