Certainly a good point that there are secondary immune pathways in covid, unlike the case in HIV.
So it makes sense to predict that CCR5delta32 homozygosity will not fully protective in covid.
But unless you have got every CCR5 pathway figured out, its crazy not to check with genotyping to see if deletion is protective, particularly when checking is so simple.
A few months ago the FDA didn't even believe that CCR5 could be involved in covid.
